Description of Property for Beulah Heights School

The church acquired a stand located at No. 8367 Chikanga Phase 3. A stand 10.5 ha in size of laid dimensions 473,79m x 275,7m x 360,94m x 257,92m (see site plan attached)
Overall the site is capable of accommodating a modern day secondary school with the required classroom and administration blocks, recreational facilities, toilets and teacher’s houses.

Reasons why the school is needed

Government’s performance has deteriorated in some policy sectors in particular combating aids addressing educational needs. The Regional Education Officer has appealed to church organisations to become partners in development in particular child education and provision of facilities. The seven primary schools in the area produce 875 grade seven pupils each year and 40% end up without places for form 1 annually.
Pupils of low income earners who cannot afford the current escalating costs in institution fees in other schools will be able to access ‘O’ level education.
Opportunities offered by the school will eradicate hot sitting and double streams which will reduce congestion currently affecting effective learning.
The reduction of school drop outs would eradicate the prevalence of early pregnancies and marriages as well as the engagement of units in various illicit activities (e.g. prostitution, drug addiction etc)
Voluntary Counselling and Training on H I V / AIDS will raise peer awareness on the pandemic and promote the creation of an HIV / AIDS free generation.

Catchment area

Our clientele will be school age children within the Chikanga Phase 3 community as well as the adjacent areas of Weirmouth, Mutare Prison Farm, Hobhouse and Bernwin high density suburbs. This area has a population of more than 25 000 people whose children do not have the services of a single secondary school.
